Erfurt is without doubt the cradle of Martin Luther’s Reformation. This city is a “must” for anybody wishing to know about the roots of modern Protestantism.
The “Luther Mile” is a two-hour walk along streets and past buildings that Martin Luther knew, complete with a commentary on life in early 16th century Erfurt.
In co-operation with St. Augustine's we offer tours of Martin Luther's former monastery. The tour including church, chapter room, exhibition “Frustration and Freedom” and the “Luther cell” takes a little over an hour. We offer this tour in English. For tours in German please contact St. Augustine's at fuehrungen[at]augustinerkloster.de
